My New Favourite Nail Combo

I never normally wear glitter on my nails other than when it is Christmas season
but for some reason this year I am absolutely loving it! I found these two polishes in my collection and loved them so much I am currently wearing them both, but individually they are both stunning as well.

This glitter OPI polish is called 'Rose of Light' and it is a beautiful rose gold colour with big flakes of iridescent glitter. Like many glitter nail polishes if you wanted this on your nails only it would take a lot of coats to get full coverage, that is why I use the other polish underneath it. Using the gold polish underneath does however make the glitter look more gold instead of rose gold but I am sure you could find a rose gold metallic polish to replace the one I used if you wanted to.

This metallic gold polish is OPI's 'LOVE.ANGEL.MUSIC.BABY' which is a bit of a mouthful I know!
This was part of the Gwen Stefani for OPI collection and is a pale gold that dries with a matte/satin finish. This is classed as a 'top coat' but I find it would too pigmented as you only need two thin coats of this to get full coverage.

Firstly before I talk about this product I need to quickly mention my nail history. I was one of those people that HAD to have acrylics and would feel lost with out them, as you can imagine this ruined my natural nails but I didn't realise the extent of the damage until one month I couldn't have them done as I was going into hospital. My nails were thinner than paper, they would split down the middle and bleed..
My fingers got so sore I just thought I really need to get them healthy again as I spend so much time looking after my body, why am I not taking care of my nails? They would only going to get worse if I got more acrylics. I did some research and decided to get Shellac! It did wonders and now my natural nails are as long as my acrylics used to be and without damage! The lady who would do my nails used Gellux instead of Shellac they are both exactly the same but Gellux is slightly cheaper. One day I decided that if I taught myself to do my own nails in the long run it would save me so much money so that is what I did!
Having this top coat means my nails can last up to two weeks with out chipping with a professional smooth glossy finish but you do have to cure them with a UV lamp.

I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know about your own nail stories!

Love

bee xoxo
