I may have found one of the prettiest places in London and it is 100ft
above London. It is the closest you are going to get to a tropical resort in
central London, can you believe all of this is on a rooftop?!
Yes I managed to go to The Roof Gardens in Kensington and I fell in love
with the gardens design. They have two sections one of which is heavily
inspired by Moroccan design whilst the other has more of an Asian style to it.
The Asian inspired garden has a small
Japanese style bridge over a stream shaped pond that inhabited flamingos! I
know how amazingly bizarre, while walking around exploring I had to keep
reminding myself we are on the top of a London building and not abroad!
I wore this
stunning jumpsuit from Missi London with some dune lace up sandals and a homemade
choker! I am thinking of doing a video of how I create my own chokers what do
you think?
Also there were some incredibly cute ducklings just to add to the mix. This garden seemed to have more of a family atmosphere to it with a giant chess set and deck chairs.
The Roof Top Gardens takes up 1.5 acres and
to go and see them you either have to be a private Roof Gardens member or book
a table at their Babylon Restaurant so that is what we did. I was warned before
hand that the portions are small like most London restaurants but I must say
that we all were perfectly full at the end of our meal (this included three
very hungry men as well!) and we
all had no complaints on the food and thoroughly enjoyed it!
I would really recommend eating at Babylon
if not for the food then for the beautiful Roof Gardens. I have a tip for you
and that is to turn up to you meal very early so you get to spend time in the
Gardens. Our meal was at 2.30pm on a Sunday afternoon and by the time we finished
our meal the gardens were closing.
As well as these two gardens they had what
looked like an outside seating area for a restaurant, I am only guessing they
do events in this area but it is also a nice place to sit and have a drink in
the shade.
The Morrocan style garden was spectacular.
It included a lounge area with sofas and beanbags as well as a bar that opened
at night. They also had a raised seating area with sofas.
Every seating area had garden heaters as
well what is a great idea knowing the English weather!
And here shows how high up we were!
As always here are my outfit details!
