Under The Sea

As promised here is a breakdown post of my Little Mermaid costume as well as my mums costume that is amazing!

Lets start with the makeup, I used the Electric Palette by Urban Decay on my eyes and for my brows I had to improvise to get the same shade as my wig.
I started with lightly using the Anastasia Beverly Hills - Brow Wiz in Light Brown then went over it with a coral lip pencil 'Dynamo' by MAC.
To set my brows I used Urban Decays 'Slow Burn and 'Zone' eyeshadows.

I used my normal foundation for this look but applied a brighter blusher called 'Cherry' by Urban Decay.

For the eyes I applied 'Freak' to the lid and then blended it into the crease with 'Gonzo',  I also used 'Jilted' and 'Urban' to the lower lid for that perfect Little Mermaid purple!
All the shadows are from the Electric Palette - Urban Decay
To give a little more of a mermaid vibe I added some large iridescent makeup sequins with some makeup glue, all can be found on Amazon.

Now to the costume! Firstly I got the corset on Depop and then started embellishing it, I got a lot of inspiration from Pinterest it is such a brilliant site for arts and crafts.
I got some faux pearl beading from hobby craft as well as some gold netting and started glueing and showing them on.
I got a pearl collar and glued it to the corset then created a shell bra pattern with the beading and then started placing the rest as I went along.

I then got my amazing leggings from ribbonandmelodies.etsy.com
I am so in love with them they are so cool!
Check out their etsy page as they also sell custom made bows.

To finish off my costume I got a wig from Amazon as well as some shell jewellery!

As I was going as The Little Mermaid my mum wanted to go as something similar. After some idea searching on Pinterest we chose Ursula, my favourite Villain!

First we purchased a black prom dress from Depop and then sewed a toy hoola hoop on to the bottom of the skirt. We then cut up some purple material that were our old curtains and attached them to black material that were in a tentacle shape.
After sewing them we cut out some light purple circles from felt and attached them to make them look more like tentacles. I then stuffed them with bubble wrap and placed wire inside to bend/shape them.
Then I attached them to the hola hoop. To keep them standing up we used some fishing line that we sewed onto the end of the tentacle and then to the  waist of the dress.

To then finish the look we got this amazing hand made Ursula necklace from @meg_vic on Depop.
I really think it completes the look and is such amazing quality!

Here are the finished costumes!

Again I have to mention the ears!
